LTE considered as one of few manufactures in Egypt who are approved to supply top brand names and department stores please see Brand labels page Leina was founded in Cairo in 1972 to produce knitted garments for men's, ladies and childerenswear for export and local market.
As a result of increased demand for the export market the decision was made to expand and another five floor building was added to the factory.
This gave increased capacity as well as allowing Leina to isolate the division of underwear which has grown very rapidly in the past two years requiring double the production.

A well-established print shop for piece print equipped with modernized SILKSCREEN printing machines, dryers. Ability to print up to 6 colours on the garment and unlimited number of colours manually.

Our Services

Development

Leina established a small division exactly like ' mini factory' for development and sampling either pre-order samples or pre-production samples to customer's requirement and salesman samples, it also helps planning & sales department by providing them with accurate costs and to give them the all necessary details in production timing.

Inspection

Leina implemented a total quality control system in each of its production divisions, the policy of inspection concentrates on preventing defects rather than defect detection, identifying potential areas of error and eliminating them from the beginning, each person is trained to perform in-line quality control from the beginning and during the production.

Quality Assurance

In addition to in-line inspection there is another inspection at the last checking point to inspect 100% of the production just before packing. Apart from the garment quality, very special care is given to human safety, Leina applied a very unique system to ensure that each garment sent to the clients is a metal free, each packing area is equipped with a metal detector. In addition to in-line inspections, Leina applied another Q.C division to inspect 10%-15% of the production after packing; each person in this division is also responsible for visiting all production units and sample checking. This division reports only to the operations manager who then gives permit for shipping. The success of this division is reflected in company's continuous growth and realizes the respect from all clients.

Knitting

Considered as the heart of Leina, special care is given to this department to secure the fabric quality. The knitting department boast extremely modern and flexible production base, which enables Leina to meet its customer needs and to respond swiftly to changes in the marketplace. The factory contains 30 circular knitting machines manufactures all kind of knitted fabric, single jersey, interlock, fleece, terry, rib, piquet, engineered stripes most of single jersey and rib machines equipped with Lycra device 6 electronic flat knitting machines for collars and trims.

Cutting

This department equipped with Investronica design & marker system, Two Lectra Systems Fully automatic spreading and cutting tables 28 meter & 16 meter, five semi-automatic cutting & spreading tables 22.5 meter each with suction and blowing system plus three band knives, servo cutters, and pin table for stripe fabric to ensure high quality of mass production.

Printing

A well-established print shop for piece print equipped with modernized SILKSCREEN printing machines, dryers. Ability to print up to 6 colours on the garment and unlimited number of colours manually.

Embroidery

Fully computerized TAJIMA embroidery machines up to 9 colours per design.

Our Factory

PRODUCTION & CAPACITY:

Producing cotton knitted garments including T-shirt, polo shirt, sweatshirt, rugby shirt, knitted shorts, boxer shorts, pyjamas, jogging, loungewear and underwear. Capacity 13000-16000 pieces/day. 90% of this capacity now is for export to Europe and USA.

EMPLOYEES:

Leina employs over one thousand people including 45 management staff. Leina's policy is not to employ workers under the age of 16. A good attractive remuneration package is offered to the staff, which includes production incentives, bonuses, non-absent incentives in addition to medical insurance. Leina also has its own network of buses for the transportation of the employees from their houses to the factory.

SALES & TURNOVER:

Approximately 90% of Leina's merchandise is for export, 40% of production capacity exported to Europe while 50% exported to USA, the remaining 10% is sold to local Egyptian market as Leina's private label. Leina sales in 2003 exceed USD 11.5 million, chart below shows the sales growth during 1997 to 2003, expecting sales to reach USD 13.5 million in 2004.

Laboratory Facilites

The in-house laboratory is equipped with washing machine, tumble dryer, gm/m2 weight scale and colour matching box to enable the factory to test fabric.

The main points to review are

a) Colour matching.
b) Weight per sq. meter.
c) Yellowing test
d) Shrinkage width & length.
e) Colour fastness and rubbing test dry & wet.

These tests done just after receiving the fabric from the dye house to recheck the dye house reports which are delivered with each batch, and if it is a positive result, fabric will sent for cutting otherwise it will send back to the dye house.

Buildings Details

Two main buildings of five floors, each on 3000 m2, one for management, restaurant, stores, print shop, CMT of under-wear and packing. The second building for knitting, cutting, CMT for outerwear and fabric stores . Dying & printing house 27000 m 2 is under construction expected to operate early 2005.
